Department of Zoology

Netaji Subhasmaha Vidyalaya , the one and only Govt. degree college of Gomati district , Udaipur, Tripura, established in 1979. Department of Zoology Netaji Subhasmaha Vidyalaya was established in 2006 and continuing pass courses up to 2008. From 2009 major course has been continuing till date. Zoology department is situated on the ground floor of the Bio science building. The department has a capacity of 33 seats for zoology Major students and caters to the students mainly of the Gomati district and also Sepahijala and South Tripura district. All the faculties of this department are linked with existing students and passed out students (Alumni) of major and minor courses through What's app groups. All academic information and social initiatives and activities are regularly shared through Whats app groups to the students and vice versa . An e-mail Id is also active for conduct of on line examinations if necessary.

Department has conducted an one day online seminar on 3rd August, 2020, in collaboration with dept. of H. Physiology and IQAC, NSM. The title was “understanding the fundamental, physiological and immunological process underlying covid-19 infection”.

One day seminar cum workshop on “duck farming in Tripura - a prospective entrepreneurial venture” on 07-09-2021,in collaboration with college of veterinary science & A.H., R. K. nagar, west Tripura.

One day seminar cum workshop on “vermicompost production using organic substances” on 10-11-2021, in collaboration with Swachchata Action plan committee, NSM.

One day seminar cum workshop on “How to make leaf compost” on 30-12-2021, in collaboration with SAP committee, NSM.

Departmental students participated oneday bird watching programmes on weekends regularly during winter season on 26-12-2021, organised by Tripura biodiversity board , forest dept., Govt. of Tripura.

Research:

1) The author is Dr. Nupur Datta. The title is:- The mustard aphidlipaphiserisimi (kaltenbach) and its natural enemies in tripura: a review, accepted on sept.01, 2020, by RJLBPCS, ISSN 2454-6348.

2)A study on faunal diversity and its utilization by indigenous people of Tripura has been published in: Tribal Research and Cultural Institute, Govt. of Tripura, Agartala. ISBN: 978-81-932589-9-6, first published in 2017.
